Daniel 10-11

Reading through the Old Testament, specifically the minor prophets like Daniel, can seem to drag on at times. Other times they can be confusing to track much less understand.

I can remember being a teenager and reading Daniel thoroughly for the first time. I was engulfed in language about the Northern and Southern kingdoms and their wars. I could not read enough about the end times and made every attempt to decipher what was to come. As I read it now though, my heart is not enthralled as it once was. I find that the most lovely thing in Daniel is the promised Messiah.

Sometimes it is difficult to see Jesus when other things seem fun and are unintentionally distracting. I encourage you to read your Scriptures and discipline your quiet time this week in hopes of keeping your focus on Christ when there are so many other distractions at Christmas.

In Christ, Bro. Les
