Garden of Prayer

Bench1Hartford Baptist Church hopes that you will feel a desire to reflect in our Prayer Garden on all that has been given the world because of Christ’s sacrifice and prayers. Experience God’s presence, love, power, mercy, forgiveness and miracles as you enter the garden through the vine-covered arches from the parking area on the east side of the church. The plaque at the entrance reads: “Upon entering this prayer room: let the peace of this place surround you as you sit or kneel quietly. God’s peace can replace the hurry and worry of your life as you meditate upon Him, realizing that you are God’s child. He loves you and cares for you, and He is here in this garden with you right now. Reverently and humbly pray thoughtfully to Him, giving yourself time for Him to surround you with His peace which surpasses all understanding.” Take time to read through the plaques associated with each plant recorded in the Bible.

The statue of Jesus is the centerpiece of the Prayer Garden surrounded by commemorative bricks, with benches to relax, pray and take in the beautiful wonders of God’s garden. A hidden area for prayer is under the arches on the right side of the garden where you might have a quiet time of reflection and prayer. As you pass the “You are God’s Child” Children’s Garden, planted by the children of Hartford Baptist, remember Jesus’ words, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Mark 10: 14-15

The Hartford Baptist Church Eden Prayer Garden is located behind the church facing Highway 52 and was developed as a gift to the community and to the Kingdom of God. The admission to experience this unique attraction is free and open to the community at all times.
